Our Story

A lounge built around slowness

J.E.N Beauty Lounge began with a simple observation: the treatments people remember are rarely the fastest ones. So we built a studio where nothing is fast.

The Name

J.E.N, three letters, one room

The lounge is named for its founder's initials — a nod to the person who still answers every email, sets every towel and performs every ritual. J.E.N Beauty Lounge Ltd is a small, deliberately personal company: no staff rotas, no apprentices passing you between chairs, no upsell at the till.

When you write to us, the reply comes from the same hands that will work on your skin. That continuity is the whole point.

The Studio

Set before you arrive

The studio at Nokes Court is kept deliberately spare: a warmed treatment couch, low lamps, a shelf of quiet nude polishes and a kettle that never quite cools. Between appointments the room is aired, linens are changed and the stones are re-warmed, so each guest walks into a space prepared for them alone.

Neighbours in Broadfield and Ifield often arrive on foot; those coming from further afield — Southgate, Tilgate, Langley Green or beyond — find parking close by on Commonwealth Drive.

Our Way of Working

What to expect

A few things we hold to, whatever the ritual:

  • One guest at a timeYour appointment is the only one in the diary. Nobody is waiting for your chair, and nobody follows you into it.
  • No clock-watchingAppointments are spaced generously. If a mask needs another five minutes, it gets them.
  • Honest adviceIf a treatment will not suit your skin, lashes or nails, we will say so and suggest what will instead.
  • Quiet by defaultConversation or companionable silence — you set the tone. Phones rest in bags; the room stays hushed.
  • Nothing to sellThere is no retail shelf and no price menu. The only thing we ask you to take away is the feeling.

The Neighbourhood

Rooted in Crawley

We are proud to be a Crawley business — the town that grew up around the railway and the manor estates, wedged between the Downs and the Weald. Our guests walk over from Broadfield, cycle in from Ifield, drive down from Langley Green and Pease Pottage, and stop in after work at the Manor Royal estates or a shift at Gatwick.

Some take a slow loop through Goffs Park or Tilgate Lake before their appointment; others pick up something for dinner in Broadfield on the way home. However you arrive, the kettle will be on.
